Sustained
Preserving Cultural Roots
At Anvrat, we believe that true sustainability is not merely about preservation it is about carrying the soul of heritage into the future. With the tagline Sustained, we are committed to ensuring that traditional art and craft continue to thrive, evolve, and inspire for generations to come.

At ANVRAT, we revive India’s ancient art of natural dyeing through the wisdom, forests, and communities of Jharkhand. This land is not just rich in plants, soil, roots, and minerals; it is rich in values. Just as natural dyeing takes only what nature offers and returns everything without harm, the tribal communities here live in harmony with the earth. By rediscovering traditional dye recipes and practising them with authenticity, we honour tradition while creating sustainable livelihoods for tribal and marginal artisans. With every colour we craft, we protect the planet, celebrate heritage, and build a future rooted in dignity and sustainability.

CRAFT
At ANVRAT, our mission is to enhance livelihoods by providing skill development and entrepreneurial training to artisans, craft-persons, economically disadvantaged groups, and tribal communities. Rooted in the traditional arts of hand weaving, hand-spinning, embroidery, crochet, knitting and natural dyeing, we strive to protect the cultural heritage of India while building pathways to dignified income.
Our journey began in Jharkhand, where rich craft traditions survive but remain vulnerable due to limited market exposure, design support, and skill advancement. To bridge this gap, ANVRAT created Hunar Ghar, a dedicated learning and production space in Rampur, Lohardaga, empowering women through natural dyeing, crochet, and knitting. Know more...
Working alongside Jharkhand’s indigenous weaving communities, including the Mehar, Swansi, Chik Baraik, and Santhal, we continue to rediscover and revive their rich textile heritage of India. Our efforts have brought back the traditional Santhali wedding saree, the Sasaang Lugdi, along with the Futa Gamcha, a versatile everyday cloth once widely worn by the Santhal community but now rarely found.

At ANVRAT, we revive India’s ancient natural dyeing heritage, beginning from Jharkhand, a land where colour, culture, and forest have always been one. For generations, tribal communities created dyes from roots, leaves, minerals, and barks, colouring their textiles with knowledge gifted by the forest. But as time changed, iconic traditions like the Lal Padh saree and the turmeric-dyed Sasaang Lugdi slowly faded from memory.
Through deep research and community collaboration, ANVRAT is bringing them back to life. We travel across villages, document unwritten dye recipes, learn from elders, and restore every shade with authenticity. By rebuilding a natural dye ecosystem, we protect cultural identity, support artisans and farmers, and keep Jharkhand’s wisdom alive. What was once forgotten is now becoming a living legacy again, as long as forests breathe, colours will live.
Crafted by tradition. Coloured by nature.
Every ANVRAT piece is a celebration of heritage, naturally dyed, hand-woven and finished with artisanal detailing. From earthy hues to handcrafted tassels, our textiles embody timeless beauty, sustainability and soul.
